WWA Supporting Frontline Aid in Ukraine

WWA is deeply concerned about the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people in these devastating times.

We have nothing but admiration for the strength and will of the Ukrainian people in defending their country.  With family and friends based in and around the city of Lviv in the west of Ukraine, our apprentice, Stanislav Brezden knows only too well the reality and impact of the conflict on the citizens of Ukraine.  By pure chance, Stan returned to the UK after a short break in Ukraine just one day before the Russians invaded.  Thankfully, for the moment his family and friends are safe and trying to carry on as normal but have had to adapt to heading down to basements for shelter each time a siren goes off which can be 5 or 6 times a day.  Like many Ukrainian people in the UK, Stan is keeping in touch with family on a daily basis to check on their wellbeing.

In support of the citizens of Ukraine, WWA has made a donation to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to aid the immediate and long-term needs of Ukrainian citizens.  The ICRC is dedicated to reuniting separated families, providing food and household items to those who have been displaced, delivering emergency water supplies to communities, supporting health facilities with additional supplies and equipment, and continuing to provide humanitarian aid to vulnerable populations. More information on the ICRC and its ongoing support of Ukraine, as well as ways you can donate, can be found here
