WWA Joins the Housing LIN’s family of sponsors

We are delighted to announce that we have become Housing LIN‘s new sponsors of their dedicated Planning Homes and Communities for Older People webpages, an essential knowledge-sharing platform with information on preparing planning applications for specialist housing for older people.

We believe the most successful specialist housing is designed, conceived, and delivered in a joined-up process.  Our team of specialist architects with knowledge and experience in specialist housing and our team of Town Planners work together to deliver on both high-level strategy and technical detail in unison.

Our Planning Director, Ifti Maniar says:

We are witnessing an increasing need for developments specifically designed to the needs of older people and people with disabilities.  Varying and innovative models of supported living are emerging that do not always sit comfortably within existing planning use classes or planning policies which can impede the delivery of projects.  We are proud to be supporting the Housing LIN and our clients to meet the social and healthcare needs of our nation”.

Comment from Mark Slater, WWA Design Director :

“WWA are delighted to continue our sponsorship of Housing LIN, particularly given our track record in the sector and our combined design and town planning knowledge which together enables us to be at the forefront of specialist housing.  We are glad to support the Housing LIN which is an invaluable source of knowledge for the sector we work in”.

Jeremy Porteus, CEO at Housing LIN says:

“We are delighted to have WWA on board.  With the government’s Adult Social Care Reform White Paper setting aside £300m over 3 years to support local communities to better plan to deliver accommodation that meets the health and social care needs of their populations, WWA’s support will help ensure our dedicated portal continues to provide useful information on both planning strategically for and more technical aspects of specialist housing for older people”.

The Housing LIN’s Planning Homes and Communities for Older People webpages cover national and local planning issues relating to the full spectrum of specialist housing for older people.  This ranges from small-scale extra care housing development to retirement.  We are delighted to be associated with this service.
