University of Gloucestershire

Following our success at Oxford Brookes University, we were appointed by The University of Gloucestershire as Town Planning and Masterplanning Consultants to relocate their existing Business School.  Plans for the Oxstalls Campus redevelopment were approved by unanimous vote at the Planning Committee.  This application is critical to the University’s long term growth and investment plans and is also an essential development for economic growth in both Gloucester City and across Gloucestershire.

The Campus, which is already home to ‘The Growth Hub’, is to become the new base for the University’s Business School.  This will see the School relocated from the Park Campus in Cheltenham, bringing business education, economic development and business services under one roof.  This represents the next major step for the University, working with the GFirst Local Enterprise Partnership, to integrate the Business School with The Growth Hub and expand its teaching, research and knowledge exchange activities, creating a strong centre for business support, innovation and enterprise in Gloucestershire.

The programme for taking this project through planning was very ambitious, however the Practice team and the wider consultant team rose the challenge.  The team included; BSG Ecology, DSG Quantity Surveyors, GIA Equation Lighting Designers, Listers Geotechnical Consultants, Oxford Archaeology, Forge Engineering, LUC Land Use Consultants, and Glanville Consultants.
