Semi-subterranean Living In a Grade II Listed Cottage

We are excited to see construction underway on the extension of Ferry Cottage, a grade II listed property near Oxford.  The design places accommodation in a semi-basement with a significant lightwell featuring terraced planting.

Our team designed an unashamedly modern extension offering a high-quality, sustainable design solution.

A flameless glass link preserves the existing cottage whilst the extension is dealt with in a contemporary fashion to avoid confusing the history of the house.  Planning permission and listed building consent were secured with the Conservation Officer particularly praising the design approach.

Working with the Barr Group, construction is scheduled to conclude later this year.  Once completed, the extension will provide a substantial amount of extra space to the existing cottage.
