Our clients lived in an attractive but small Dutch style double fronted and detached house in Walton on Thames. Its first floor mansard meant there was very little bedroom floor area and it had been extended piecemeal with the conversion of a garage and the addition of a conservatory creating an unsatisfactory set of internal spaces.
The brief was to improve the internal arrangement and quality of the ground floor spaces and enlarge the first floor to provide a high quality master bedroom. We were able to greatly improve the layout through the addition of a double height rear extension creating a stunning master bedroom and ensuite at first floor level, a delightful through kitchen dining room and an unusual drawing room with a partially double height space.
The building was procured through a traditional JCT contract and the window assemblies were manufactured by Ideal Combi of Denmark.
